The Umbrella Garden is Back

Umbrella Garden
I stop to photograph this unique garden each year, and this year I thought it had failed. It turns out the shrubs around it have grown tall enough that you can’t really see the plants until they get really tall.
It’s a dahlia garden, and the growers place umbrellas over each plant. They’ve never been home when I’ve stopped during the day, so I’m not sure but I would guess it’s to protect the plants and the flowers from wind and rain damage, and even excess sun. They may be competition dahlias, but I just love the idea of all those umbrellas!
Here’s the prior umbrella garden.

They look amazing.
I think you are right, those must be very special flowers and the way of protecting them looks so nice.
