First Snow

As soon as it was light enough outside I opened a window and photographed the snow on the pussy willow, surprised to see how high it was piled on the narrow branch.

This view is a convenient and favorite view to photograph—I can get a good closeup and the snow really piles on the branches easily in this protected spot.

Unconcerned

I forgot to post yesterday’s snow photo! The catkins have finally begun to open, but the catkins do their thing even under the snow.

Pussy Willow in the Snow

Even with snowfall, the pussy willow buds are fat and ready to open at the slightest hint of spring; in fact, a few of them already have.

Enjoy the beauty and respite of winter while it lasts, keep yourself protected from the elements, but not so well protected that you miss the first warm breezes of spring as they caress your face.
