Mist rises from the valleys, tinged pink with early sunset, after a thunderstorm rolled through in early evening.
Sometimes I find photos in the least expected places. This was at the top of an overgrown hill which had been graded to build a shopping center, to the left is Costco and right behind me is a huge parking lot and three-level mall. But I’d rather look at this.
The cold front arrived yesterday afternoon as the big purple cloud rose above the horizon like a blanket being lifted over Carnegie. I love it when storms come in like this, and catching this moment when the sun is still happily shining on the little houses and trees before the big dark cloud blots it out is so dramatic. The storm wasn’t that bad, heavy rain for just a while, but the temperature has been steadily dropping since then, and this weekend will be quite brisk. Autumn always brings these contrasting moments.
