Yellow Roses

I had to wait for someone at the grocery store so I photographed the flowers.

I’m not a fan of the cut flower industry since most are grown with huge amounts of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in countries that have lax environmental standards for such things, and transported here using a huge carbon footprint for jet fuel and trucking. A few stores, Trader Joe’s being one, sell Rain Forest Alliance certified flowers. I find them even more beautiful.

Yellow roses are one of my favorites… this captures their glow so well.

  2. These really caught my eye. The look of fresh flowers in this weather gives hope that spring will hurry.

    • Bernie, I photographed so many flowers, but this one was the most brilliant.
